Get Into Your Sanctuary
This year, NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) is hosting a virtual Get into Your Sanctuary weekend to celebrate our wondrous national marine sanctuaries and the value of these special places as iconic destinations for responsible recreation! Join ONMS from July 31 to August 2 for a unique opportunity to experience all of NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary System from wherever you are. From taking an ocean safari to virtually diving through shipwrecks to learning how to cook sustainably from a professional chef, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
In celebration of national Get Into Your Sanctuary activities, ONMS is also hosting a photo contest. From May 23 through September 7 (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend), send ONMS your best photos of the National Marine Sanctuary System and help us celebrate the beauty and importance of these special places. Winning photos will be featured in next year’s Earth Is Blue Magazine and on the Earth Is Blue social media campaign.
