Dr. Quentin R. Tyler has served as the Associate Dean and Director for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion since 2018 and the Acting Associate Dean for Administration and Faculty Affairs since 2020 in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) at Michigan State University (MSU). On May 1,2021, Dr. Tyler assumed leadership of Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) as Acting Director. Dr. Tyler’s focus is on supporting and enhancing MSUE’s traditional programs that have made the organization a national leader, but also looking toward innovative and creative ways to reach out to new audiences under MSUE’s mission of improving people’s lives through extension by bringing vast knowledge resources of MSU directly to individuals, communities and businesses.
As Associate Dean and Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Tyler provides leadership for infusing diversity, equity and inclusion principles through all areas of the CANR. He effectively focuses on creating a more multi-culturally centered environment for faculty, staff and students within CANR, AgBioResearch, and MSU Extension; and networks with partners across MSU, the state of Michigan and across the country. As Acting Associate Dean for Administration and Faculty Affairs, Dr. Tyler is responsible for all College human resources and business operations, as well as faculty development, faculty annual reviews, and reappointment, promotion and tenure success.
